But despite these features, no-one can deny that at its core, Notion is a versatile note-taking app.

You can create projects, assign it to members, add various types of documents, and much more. One big reason behind Notion’s success is that it’s not a simple note-taking app but almost a project management tool. No new note-taking app has risen to prominence as quickly as Notion. For me, Simplenote is a place where I can brainstorm ideas as it gives me a distraction-free environemt which allows me ideas to flow. I also love the fact that it comes with a dark mode. I love Simplenote’s clean user interface which is a breath of fresh air when compared to the complex and clunky user interface of OneNote. Simplenote allows you to easily create notes, reminders, to-do list, and more. I personally am a fan of Simplenote, just for the fact that how easy it is to use and how my notes are instantly synced across devices without having to do anything. If you are someone who is looking for a simple note-taking app which offers an intuitive and easy-to-navigate UI, Simplenote is the one for you. Simplenote, as its name suggest, is a very simple note-taking app which just works. Price: Evernote Basic (Free), Evernote Premium ($69.99/year), Evernote Business ($14.99/user/month)

There are tons of other features such as a web-clipper which allows you to easily save web links and articles, the ability to input your notes in text, audio, or pictures, optical character recognition which allows you to search for text inside images, password protected notes, and much more. Recently, Evernote launched a new “Spaces” feature which makes it really easy for team members to collaborate with each other.Īs you can see, there’s a lot to like here, and I have just scratched the surface. Apart from personal usage, Evernote is also great for business use as it allows team members to collaborate on ideas, share research material, manage projects and more. Evernote by far has the best collaboration feature out of any note-taking app that I have used. One of my most favorite features about Evernote is that it makes it really easy to share your notes with your classmates, friends or, colleagues to help you collaborate on notes. You can even create stacks of notebooks which is great if you have as many notes as I do. Coming to the features of the app, I love how it allows us to organize our notes into different notebooks. That allows you to completely invest yourself in the app and structure it just the way you want to, as you know that you won’t have to redo it just a few years down the line. One of the best things about using Evernote is that it is an app which you can trust to be around for decades. The app brings all the features that you can think of and is one of the most complete note-taking apps you can find. Sorry I couldn't help you with a fix.Evernote is probably the most popular note-taking app and the best OneNote alternative out there. Not great when you have lots of sections and even more pages. I have called Microsoft Office support in the past for help with OneNote and they weren't able to give me any fix either except to keep recreating the notebooks over and over again. I really like OneNote, but I hate these iterations with no way to move old notebook except by re-creating them. When you create notebooks, if you are a corporate user, the best thing I can tell you is to create separate notebooks and then save them to OneDrive for Business and then you should be safe for awhile until Microsoft makes another change to OneNote. I don't have a fix for you because I don't think there is one. In my case I was lucky that I still had the old OneNote 2016 on my computer and with some of my notebooks, I could open them, copy the pages to a new notebook and then stopped using the old notebooks all together. I'm sorry to say that I couldn't find a way to move the notebook pages and I had to re-create my notebooks too after I found out they weren't syncing and then became corrupt. There were so many iterations of OneNote, first saved the on the hard drive, then OneDrive Personal, then OneDrive for Business Groove.exe, then OneDrive for Business and finally SharePoint. Ran into what you are experiencing a long time ago when I first started using OneNote.
